Be Careful What You Pray For

Things have been so crazy. When I prayed for God to help us with our finances, I did not have in mind to go back to work. (I thought that maybe we would win the lottery and we don't play.) But my old job came open and now I am back working full time. It took a lot to get use to. I work with my husband. So we drive to work together, we eat lunch together, and we drive home together. It really is not that bad. Mike is my best friend and I love spending time with him. (I will let you know if I feel the same way in a couple of months.) It is really a good thing and I know that I am right were I need to be.

This weekend is my moms birthday party. I don't think I am ready. I still have so much to do. I worked all weekend on getting her pictures in albums. I am through 1960-1998. I will have to work on the rest at night. It was a job. She had pictures in ziplock bags and everywhere. No dates. I really need to get my pictures in order.

After this weekend I am going to be working on all my stuff for the Memoryvilla retreat. It is going to be great this year. I can't wait. I believe there are a few more spots left.

Have a great week!

I am so bad!

I can't believe that it has been so long since I have made a post. The girls have been home and I still have not been feeling the best. But I think things are getting back to normal. Whatever that is???? Mandi left yesterday and Brittani left today to go back to school. It is amazing to me that when the girls are at home it is like company is here. I guess I am use to my routine and it is off when they are at home. Mandi has not lived at home in over a year and a half and Brittani has been gone for 5 months. They just home ever now and then. I never thought that it would be like this. I guess it is Gods way of getting us ready for when they don't live at home anymore. I never thought that I would ever be able to let them go. Now we are taking baby steps and I think I might make it. Check with me when they are gone for good.

This week has gone by fast. Sunday we went to East Texas to see my Mom. It was good for all four of us to make the trip. The rest of the week went by in a hurry.

I have been thinking of all the stuff I have to get done by the end of March. I need to make my list and start working on everything. I am so much of a list maker. There is going to be a 70th birthday party for my Mom on Feb 14. I have a lot of my moms pictures and I need to get them in order for her. Also I am helping at the Memoryvilla Retreat again this year. So much to do....

TSO

Yesterday Brittani won 2 tickets to see TSO (Trans-Siberian Orchestra). So she had to choose who she would take with her. She loved having the power over everyone that she might choose you or she might not. She finally ask Mandi if she would like to go to the concert. Mandi said that she would love to go. It was not 10 minutes when Mandi called to see if Mike and I would like to go too. Someone could not use the tickets that they had won. I called Mike and he said yes.
Today we went to the afternoon concert. I was a little worried. Since Mike and the girls had went last year, they had warned me that it would be loud and the lights would be bright. I did not know what to expect. It was not as bad as I thought it would be. It was very good. The lights did not bother me like I thought they would. The girls said that I am getting old because I took my sunglasses in with me in case the lights hurt my eyes. (I have to wear sunglasses all the time.) I had to shut my eyes a couple of times but that was all. It was not loud, it was just right. I really enjoyed it. I just wish that we could have seen it before Christmas. The one thing that did bother me was the vibration of the music. It tickled my throat and made me cough. But all in all it was a great time.

Just Go Away

I hate to feel bad. For the last 2 weeks I have not felt the best. My voice comes and goes, mostly goes. So bad that I could not be heard at a drive thru and they still could not hear me at the window. I just took what they gave me. I planned on going to the Doctor today if I was not better. I got up and I was much better. It is funny how one minute you feel better and the next you feel like you are going to die. I really don't have a problem going to the doctor. I just don't like taking antibiotics. So when I went to get my shot the doctor ask me what was wrong with me. (I thought he was the doctor.) He said that he did not know what to do with me. I thought Mike was the only one that felt that way. I promised him that if I was not better Monday I would call him for medicine. I just want this stuff to go away!

Happy New Years!!!

Wow, I can't believe it is 2009. Where has the time gone? Every year I make plans to make changes in my life. I turn around and the year is gone. So this year I have decided to not make resolutions (everyone knows that we make them to break them). I am going to make a:

2009 Bucket List
  1. Start a blog (I think I am off to a good start.)
  2. Scrapbook more or just create more
  3. Get fit (Not just lose weight but get fit.)
  4. Pray with Mike everyday
  5. Read my Bible
  6. Get all my pictures in order
  7. Learn to Knit
  8. Make a rag quilt
  9. Teach a scrapbook class (Not sure about this one.)
  10. Get published (Really not sure about this one.)
Not to bad of a list. I know there are more thing I would like to do but I think 10 are enough for now. Just to let you know I am not a writer. I would rather make a phone call than to write anything. I have been waiting for a phone blog but no one has come up with one yet. So I guess I should get over my fear and go for it. Just remember I am not a writer. I hope this will help me.

Today was a day spend at home with Mike and the girls. We spent the day doing what Southern people do on New Years day. Getting all gassed up. Why do all the traditional foods give you gas? We had:
  • black eyed peas - for good luck
  • cabbage - for money
  • fried potatoes - because they taste so good
  • cornbread - you can't have peas without cornbread.
We do this every year. I thought last year was a bad year, but just think how bad it would have been if we had not had our peas and cabbage last new years day. We were not going to chance it this year. I think this year is going to be a better year. I know it has been a bad year for a lot of people and I pray for a better 2009 for everyone.
